Keegan's tubes

So his appointment on Wednesday went as we had thought and Dr. Supance agreed with all of the other doctors that tubes were in Keegan's best interest. So he got them this morning....yup, that's how we roll. Have you ever spent 7 grand before 7am..... we have! Of course we have insurance but when we filled out all of the papers at the surgi-center this morning they have you sign for the amount that they are billing your insurance. That was an eye opener.
We got to there about 6:30 and they took us back almost right away and did Keeg's vitals. He was his typical flirty cute self that just wanted to get down and run around. It was a whole new world he had never seen before and he didn't want to miss anything. Unfortunately for him his feet or knees never hit the floor. :) They explained to us that Keegan wouldn't actually be under general anesthesia but rather just in an unconscious state. They gave him a little oral sedative in a liquid form and then backed that up with a gas mask for the 10 minutes the procedure would take. So they took him back smiling and giggling and we were hopeful that everything would be great. Fast forward 10 minutes and Dr. Supance comes out to get us and says that Keegan did fine but his body was not a fan of the "medication" and says we can go back and see him and that he's awake. We turn the corner and can hear him screaming!! Keegan is a pretty cool kid and he goes from zero to starving in 2.2 seconds and he's had some good scream fests, but I had never heard him scream like this. Drew said that he had only heard it one other time when Keegan was WAY overtired. He finally opened his eyes and saw us there and then he just got pissed!! Hungry, scared and an out of control feeling are not a good mix for Keegs apparently. Good parenting tip to know for future reference :)

I got him home and he seems to be dealing with it decently. Man was he a crank monster!! He would burp and scream which i"m sure was his body getting rid of the gas. But, after a bottle and a little nap the only thing that seems to be going on is that he's a little warm. A fever isn't uncommon and as ling as it stays below 102 we are in good shape.

Hearing sounds from outside!! :)

Happy eating as always

On a happier note, Keegs is gonna cut this first stinking tooth like any second. It is RIGHT THERE but he''s got some strong gums apparently.

Bad picture I know, but his gum is pretty white!
