Keegan has had quite a busy first week. He developed a little bit of jaundice so on our third night he spent it in the little baby oven under the ultraviolet light cooking the yellow right out of him. When they first tested him his bilirubin level was just over 16 and they want to see it below 11. After two hours under the lights, you could already see a noticeable difference in his skin tone. About 15 hours later they tested him again at about 5am and his level was down to 9 so he was freed from the joint and back in our room with me. Thank goodness. When they first told me that he had to be taken to the nursery for the night, my head went right back to when they told us that Aiden needed to go to the nursery for the night and he ended up in the NICU for 9 days – needless to say, I started sobbing all over again. We had our favorite nurse from when Aiden was born and she was so sorry to have to be the one to give me the news and then let me spend as much time in the nursery as I wanted. When I saw how well Keegan was doing I started to relax and trust that everything was going to be ok. Drew is always the eternal optimist and manages to always seem level headed.

Looking so much better!
Keegan breastfeeds like a champ and is a really mellow baby. He has the sweetest eyes that he opens quite a bit which has been really fun. Aiden has been really sweet with him. Every time he came to visit us in the hospital he made sure to say hi and bye to Keegan. He loves to give his brother kisses to. It’s so cute! We left the hospital to come home on Thursday and we had the boys in the back and I was in the front listening for cries or fussing on our quick drive home and instead I hear Aiden say “I love you Keena.” My heart absolutely melted and tears formed. I had never been more proud as a mom. I love my boys!

Ready to GO HOME
last time I didn't get to bring my baby home when I came home - this time I got to bring them both home with me :) Happy moment for me!
So happy to all be home together!
Showing the neighbors how cute and little we are
We’ve been home a few days now and we are trying to get into a good routine. Fortunately, Aiden has stayed right in his own routine which makes life a whole lot easier. He really didn’t seem too bothered that Mama was gone for 5 days – not sure how I feel about that. He did see me every day, but I hope he missed me a little bit Keegan has been struggling a little bit with acid reflux and an immature digestive system. With all that going on, he’s still a great baby. We are truly blessed.
The first night home and both boys fell asleep in our bed - precious!
