It's a BOY!!

We had our 20 week scan yesterday and they told us that Aiden was going to have a little brother. We are very much looking forward to the boys being close….nothing like 25 months apart to keep things interesting. We did want to have our kids close together, but as Aiden rapidly approaches the dreaded terrible twos I have started to ask myself if I really thought this through....

The Baby or "Ralph" as Drew has names the fetus because all I did for the first several months was, well ralph :) - Anyway, he is measuring big just like Aiden did and supposedly has a rather large head like Aiden also did. Given all the complications surrounding Aiden's dramatic entrance into the world, my doctor isn't messing around this time. We have a planned c-section on November 18th which means we will be home for Thanksgiving week and God wiling be able to bring our baby home the day that we come home - imagine that :)

They told me that I have what is called a anterior placenta pregnancy which just means that the placenta is attached to the front wall of the uterus rather than the back wall. It just makes for a difficult ultrasound and with Aiden's cardiac history they are sending me to have a fetal cardiology ultrasound for a closer look at the four chambers - not expecting anything to go wrong, but just taking a look.

As many of you know that a long time ago we decided to stick with our initials of AJC and KLC. for the kids so that the whole family would have one or the other and with Aiden being the AJC, this kiddo is a KLC - that said, Keegan Liam Cox will be joining us on November 18th 2010.

Congratulations on another boy!! It is fun having two boys, and ours are also 25 months apart! It's really not so bad to have them that close in age, but it is a little challenging especially at the beginning when you're sleep-deprived. ;-) It just gets better though. I've heard that it's great to have them 2 years apart when they're about 2 and 4...then they play together a lot!
