This has been a big week for us. It's crazy but it seems like both of our boys have grown by leaps and bounds this week. This week started out with a Dr Appt. for both of them. We were expecting Keegan to have gained weight from his 6lbs 11oz that he was at the last appointment, so I was expecting he was 7lbs something but I wasn't expecting him to already be 9lbs 4oz. I was shocked He's also grew an inch. Looks like he's gonna follow in his brother's footsteps. Aiden on the other hand has gotten taller because all of his pants are starting to get to be too small, but he hasn't gained any weight which just means we have tall string bean. It's not surprising with as active as he is all the time.
Aiden adores his little brother and says Hi and Bye when appropriate and he also tells him that he loves him, but the sweetest thing is that when Keegan gets fussy and cries, Aiden will go to him and tell him that he's OK. He says. "You OK Keena." I had the boys in the car the other day and drove to the mailbox and jumped out real quick. When I got back in, Keegan was pitching a fit and Aiden says, "Mama, Kenna OK" - it made my heart smile. He really does love his little brother and although that doesn't surprise me, we have been pleasantly surprised at how welcoming Aiden has been to him and (knock on wood) we haven't had any jealous spells. Aiden has been awesome with expressing his feelings. If he wants a hug or a kiss he will ask for one. Same thing if he wants you to come and sit with him, or play with him or read a book. And if Keegan happens to be there too Aiden will give him a kiss and tell him that he loves him. It's so incredibly sweet. Keegan seems awfully fond of his big bro too. His eyes do track where Aiden goes and he will look in the direction of where Aiden's voice is coming from. I really hope and pray that all of this is a sign of a good friendship forming.
Keegan has a really sweet disposition and just gets cuter and cuter everyday. He is really getting interested in his surroundings and he calms at the sound of our voice. Sleeping is hit or miss right now. Some nights he will sleep 5 straight hours and others he wakes up every 2 1/2 hours wanting to eat. We know how blessed we are and thank God as often as possible for our wonderful family!
