Fighting back the tears.....

We had a less than encouraging day at the doctor. It seems there has been no change what so ever in over a week. Still only dilated 1/2cm and 70% effaced. At this point there is only a 10% chance that we will even deliver by our actual due date!! They have scheduled me to be induced if I go too long, but that's not till the 15th - um, yea - you read that right.....October 15th!!!!!!!!! That's a week and change from my due date. SUPER frustrated, SUPER uncomfortable and trying not to be miserable all the time, but this lovely heat wave we are having is not helping any!! It was 101 yesterday and is in the 90's today.

I guess I should look at this on the bright side - at least I have an end date now - but come one... another week + of this and I already don't recognize my feet!!!!!!!!!!! All of our friends and family have delivered now and we are not only last, but it appears that we are lingering too.....sigh I'm done!!

Honey,

I know it's hard, but don't let this get you down! Baby AJC is just waiting until the right time...

Okay...so he/she doesn't understand about heat waves! Geez...it's hotter there than here in TX! Go figure! We are supposed to get a heat wave starting today, but only in the 90's...then there will be the high humidity...darn! Oh well... Just stay in where it is cool, relax, keep your feet up, read a good book (cuz once AJC is here, you won't have time for awhile!)...enjoy the quiet. Give your pups some extra attention, cuz they are not gonna understand in a few days, why 'mom' doesn't have much time for them. :>)

Hang in there, Sweetie!!! Sending cool thoughts your way!

Love and hugs to you and Drew,

Aunt Sally

Kim... I am so sorry. I went until my due date with Bethie and felt like, well there is nothing really like it!
My advice is to find a cool place to walk. Maybe the mall? Walking really does help bring on labor.
Drew, I am sure your doctor has dicussed with you what you can do to help bring on labor... And rub her feet, paint her toes, or just take her to get a pedicure. It'll make her feel a little better to be pampered.
Still checking to see if I need the orange and blue, or the pink jersey...

You brave brave soul ... :) You're almost done! After AJC makes his/her debut, you won't even remember your misery!

Come on, Baby! HURRY UP ALREADY!

On the other hand, you may want to stalk your doctor, on foot of course (to stimulate labor) until he changes your induction date to the 9th. Or even the eighth.

A little intimidating pressure never hurt anyone. Just wait for him before, after work. Hang out at his office. Bring him coffee or cupcakes between paients, you know? Be present, nice, and slightly creepy. Maybe that will work. I think its worth a try!

Kim,
Please try to remember you are lucky to be able to carry a healthy baby. There are SO many women who would die to be in your shoes. As uncomfortable as it is please try to remember the joy that's in store. It won't be much longer.
Love,
Amy

I know this won't make you feel any better, but just in case it does - there's a tiny (very teeny) part of me that actually misses being pregnant. I realize it's likely just the hormones, but soon after AJC is born, you might just miss these moments of complete misery. Enjoy the last few days where it is truly just you and baby :)

I'm betting on my birthday 10/12 although for your sake I hope it's before then! Hang in there Kim!

Hi Kim,
I know how you feel! After having both Heidi and Gretchen early, Erin decided to come a week after the due date! I really gave up, and just figured she wouldn't come. I got out and did all the things I hadn't felt like doing, like working in the yard, pushing stuff around... I just didn't care anymore! After one big session of pulling plants out, I was really tired, went in and got in a warm bath and all of a sudden I felt her drop! Bloop!I went to bed and got up when the contractions kept me awake and that was it! I never thought it was going to happen! :-)
p.s. I'll keep watching this space for the latest news - if any!!
