Well, we are all back from the wedding and it took us about a week to recover. Drew came home and was sick as a dog for almost all of last week. Lost his voice and everything. I have been exhausted since before we left.
Sandy, Grandma and Grandaddy were in a horrific car accident on Tuesday before the wedding. Grandma and Grandaddy had to be cut out of the car - we weren't sure if they were actually going to make it to the wedding or not. Sandy and Grandma had some bumps and bruises and were very sore as you can imagine. Grandaddy on the other hand has a fractured clavicle, sternum and neck. He was in a large brace and a significant amount of pain, but just like the trooper that he is, he was there with a huge handsome smile on his face and made Chad’s day. He is a true miracle. The officer that was in the scene later told Sandy that in all the accidents that happened there this winter and there have been quite a few – Granddaddy is the only survivor in the back seat. Granted the fact that his head went through the window and he was able to walk out of the hospital two days later was nothing short of “miraculous” his doctor told the family.
So, it was an emotional week/weekend for all of us. The sheer joy of Chad and Amanda’s wedding and the beginning of their life together and then the gratefulness for the welfare of the rest of the family had us all pretty physically and emotionally drained.
Everyone is home safe now. Chad and Amanda had an awesome honeymoon in Cancun and Drew’s parents and Grandparents are back home safe in Kansas where they will stay for about eight weeks until Grandaddy is released from the doctor’s care there.
After the wedding we were able to steal a few moments and spend time with my awesome God-Mother that I haven't seen in years. She was unable to fly out for the wedding so it was her first time meeting Drew and of course she loved him :) It was great catching up and hearing old stories about when I was little and about the fun her and my mom had when they were younger. I loved every minute of it and can't wait to see her again!!

Oh my gosh!! I'm so happy for Chad and Amanda, but I'm also very glad to hear that everyone came out of the accident (relatively) safe. Guardian angels were certainly at work that day, eh?
It really was a miracle that Sandy's dad made it out so well off. Thank the Lord!
It was so good to see you guys at the wedding. It really was sweet and SO neat to see everyone. =0)
